    Q Which countries is the service available in? Which currencies are supported?

    Quickremit can be used by an NRI (Non Resident Indian) to send money from his/her bank account in Singapore (SGD), Australia (AUD) and Canada (CAD) to a beneficiary in India. The remitter can also have the money sent to his/her own NRI account in India.

    Q Do I need to register or sign up for an account to use Quickremit services?

    Yes. In order to use our services you must register with Quickremit. After you use Quickremit the first time, we will securely save your information. This information will not be shared or made available to anyone. The next time you use Quickremit you will not have to re-enter this information.

  • Step 1: Log on to http://www.hdfcbank.com/nri_banking/home.htm

  • Step 2: Select Quickremit and click on Register. Select Country where you live and Complete registration by filling your details and creating your Login User ID and password.

  • Alternatively, you can also login to Quickremit website and register yourself.

    Q Is there a fee to sign up for a Quickremit account?

    No, Quickremit accounts are free.

    Q How do I start using the service?

    On the HDFC Bank website under NRI section, select Quickremit registration and complete a simple two page registration. The following details would be required:

    Personal Details: Fill-in your demographic information of Full Name, Gender, Date of Birth, Citizenship and wherever applicable, unique Identification number as specified

    Contact Details: Fill-in your complete address and contact number details in the overseas country of residence. It is essential to provide correct details and update them on a continuous basis so that we can reach you.

    Other Details: You are required to set up a hint question and hint answer that will enable you to reset your password online in case you forget or your user ID gets disabled.

    Upon providing the above details and accepting the terms and conditions and declaration that govern the use of the service, you get successfully registered for the service and can start using the facility for your money transfer needs

    Q How will I get my User ID/Password for Quickremit login?

    The Email ID you use for the online Quickremit registration is your user ID. You would be required to create a password when registering on Quickremit.

    In case you have forgotten your password or entered incorrect password for login, after 3 successive incorrect attempts, your User ID will get disabled.

    In such a case, use the Forgot Password or User ID Disabled link on the Quickremit login page and enter the required details as registered / updated by you on Quickremit, to generate your Temporary password. The Temporary password will be sent to your e-mail ID, as updated by you on Quickremit. Follow the instructions provided in the e-mail to reset your password and login to your Quickremit account.

    Q Do I need to be an HDFC Bank customer to use service?

    Quickremit service can be availed by any individual (NRI) for personal money transfer needs in India for 3 currencies (Australia – AUD, Singapore – SGD & Canada – CAD).

    Neither you nor your beneficiary needs to be an HDFC Bank customer for availing the service.

    Q Can I send money to any non-HDFC bank account using this service?
    With Quickremit, user can send money into any bank accounts across more than 50,000 bank branches in India.

    Q Can I send money via a demand draft?

    With Quickremit, payment to a recipient can be issued through a demand draft which will be dispatched to your recipient in India.

    Q For what purposes can I send money through Quickremit?

    Quickremit service can be availed by any individual for personal money transfer needs in India. User will require to specify the purpose of remittance from a specified list of purposes like:

  • Family maintenance
  • Gift to family or friends
  • Credit into your non-resident deposit accounts in India
  • Donations (Pls refer

  • QCan I do trade / Business related transactions through Quickremit?

    No, you cannot do any trade/business related transactions through Quick remit. Quickremit is individual to individual remittance service for individual NRI and cannot allow transactions for any commercial or trade purpose.

    Q Can I send money from a 3rd party (friend’s/ relative’s) account?

    No. As per the compliance process, you need to send money from your own overseas account only

    Q How to add the beneficiary under the Quickremit account?

  • Login to your Quickremit account
  • Click on “Address Book” link
  • Click on “Add new beneficiary”
  • Update the beneficiary’s complete details (name, address, beneficiary bank name, city and account number) and submit the details.
  • The beneficiary will now be registered with Quickremit.
  • Q How long does it take to activate newly added beneficiary?

    Beneficiary addition is instant step and customer can book a transaction and select newly added beneficiary for sending money to his bank account.

    Q What is fixed exchange rate?

    When you choose confirmed exchange rates, the rate is confirmed or locked in at the time of transfer initiation. You need to specify the amount in Rupees that you want your recipient to receive.

    Q What is indicative exchange rate?

    When you choose indicative exchange rates, the rate is applied to your transaction will be as prevailing on the date and time of conversion of your money.

    Q What is RTRN (Remitter Transaction Reference Number)?

    RTRN is a 10- digit Remitter Transaction Reference Number generated when you book a transaction on our website.

    Q Do I need to enter a new RTRN (Remitter Transaction Reference Number) on my Internet banking account for every new transfer?

    Yes. Even if you are sending money to the same beneficiary again, you must make a fresh request on Quickremit and enter the new RTRN (Remitter Transaction Reference Number) in your Internet banking account.

    Q How can I track the progress of my transaction?

    You can check the status of transaction by logging into your Quickremit account and visiting the “Status Tracker” link

    Q What is Internet Banking Trace Number?

    Internet banking Trace Number is a Transaction ID generated by your bank while initiating funds from your source account to our correspondent bank account. In case your Bank does not provide the Transaction ID, you can update your remitting bank account number by visiting the "Status Tracker" link.

    Please follow the below mentioned steps to update the same:

  • Login to your Quickremit account.
  • Click on "Status Tracker" link.
  • Update the "Internet Bank Trace Number" on the Status Tracker OR the Bank account number through which you have initiated the payment.
  • Q How do I know that money has reached my recipient?

    HDFC Bank Quickremit provides this information to you by email and through track your transfers.

    HDFC Bank Quickremit sends a series of email notifications informing you of the status of your transaction. The first email is sent shortly after you submit the transaction. Upon completion of the transaction, you will receive another email telling you that your recipient has received the funds.

    Place the email address quickremit@timesofmoney.com in your "safe sender's list" to be sure that these messages are not mistakenly directed to your junk or spam mail box.

    Q How long does an HDFC Bank Quickremit money transfer usually take?

    HDFC Bank Quickremit is committed to getting your money to its destination as fast as possible. Many transfers are available for your recipient within a day. This varies by country, the method of delivery you select, and how you pay for the transaction.

    Some things that can slow down processing:

  • Additional information required by Quickremit or recipient bank or financial institution for your security
  • Payment processing / verifying your bank account
  • Branch location hours / delivery hours / holidays
  • Erroneous recipient details
  • You will receive email notifications as your money transfer progresses through our system. You can track your transfer on the Quickremit website.

    Q How will a beneficiary who does not have an HDFC Bank account receive the money?

    Quickremit online transfers can be used to send money directly into accounts with over 100 other banks participating in the electronic credit facility provided by the Reserve Bank of India that allows electronic transfer of funds or through request for issuance of Demand Draft payable at over 700 locations in India.

      QWhat is Quickremit online Transfers?

      Quickremit Online transfer is a completely online money transfer facility for remitters in Australia. Remitters having internet banking facility for their checking accounts with banks in Australia can use Online banking transfer. Additionally, only customers of banks offerings the following will be able to use this facility:

      Online third-party funds transfers/payments on their Internet banking website and,

      A "Remarks" or "Message to Recipient" field while making the online third-party transfer, to enter the Remitter transaction reference Number generated on Quickremit.

      QHow do I make an online transfer from Australia?

      After booking a transaction on Quickremit, you can make an online transfer to HDFC Bank from your Local Bank account through the Pay Anyone option.

      Quickremit gives you Westpac BSB number and unique account number for sending funds from your local bank account to HDFC Bank account along with unique Remittance Transaction Reference Number (RTRN) for your transaction, enabling you to track your remittance online.

      Q What is the BSB Number?

      035812 BSB Number is a unique 6 digit number assigned to HDFC Bank to receive fund from Australian local banks

      QWhat are the details for Pay Anyone transfer?

      "Pay Anyone" is an easy way to transfer money from your account with local bank to other accounts. You can transfer to any Australian financial institution (bank, building society, credit union). All you need is the BSB number, account number and account name of the recipient. Enter the details for fund transfer as follows:

      Recipient Account Name: HDFC BANK Remit
      Recipient Bank BSB Number: 035812
      Recipient Account Number:* Enter the Account Number* (displayed on the Quickremit website)
      Transaction Remarks/Notes: Enter the 10 digit alpha numeric RTRN

      *Note: This Account number is unique to each transaction. Please do not save this number. Enter the BSB code and account number without any spaces.

      Q How long does it take for a “Pay Anyone” transfer to be processed?

      Immediate payments/transfers submitted before 6.00pm Melbourne time on a bank business day are processed on that day.

      Immediate payments/transfers submitted after 6.00pm Melbourne time or on weekends or public holidays are processed on the next bank business day.

      Q How soon will a beneficiary with an HDFC Bank account receive the money?

      For a regular Quickremit transaction, it will typically take 2 to 3 working days to credit an HDFC Bank account.

      For Fixed Rupee Transfers, once you initiate the fund transfer and the funds are available to HDFC Bank in India for processing, within the validity date with complete and correct details, further processing is carried out and disbursed within 24 working hours.

      If your beneficiary has an account with HDFC Bank, the money is directly transferred to the account within 1 working day of HDFC Bank receiving the money.

      For electronic credit to non-HDFC Bank accounts or DDs, the money is sent for electronic clearing or a DD issued and dispatched in upto 8-10 additional working day.

      Please note that the timeline excludes banking holidays and weekends in your country and India.

      Q What is a Validity Date for a Fixed Rupee Transfer transaction?

      Validity Date is the date when the funds are available to HDFC Bank Limited, India for processing and disbursal to receiver. While initiating the Fixed Rupee Transfer request, you will be informed about the validity date of your transaction and you need to ensure that the funds are available to HDFC Bank for processing on or before this validity date.

      IMPORTANT: Please note that only if the funds are received in our overseas correspondent bank account on working Day 0 before the cut-off time of overseas clearing, the same is typically available to HDFC Bank Limited, India, for processing on the next working day i.e. Day 1 The Validity date refers to the date of availability of funds to HDFC Bank Limited India for processing. In case the funds are not available to HDFC Bank India for processing within the validity date, your request will be processed as a regular request and the rate applicable at the date and time of conversion of your funds will be applied to your transaction. The confirmed rate will not be valid for Fixed Rupee Transfer requests where funds are available to HDFC Bank after the Validity Date.

      Q What if my online banking account does not have a 'Remarks' or 'Message to Recipient' field?

      In that case you need to send the following details by e-mail to quickremit@timesofmoney.com from the e-mail ID that you have used to register with Quickremit:
